Lash Extensions Tips For The Summer

Living in Honolulu, Hawaii, we know the approaching summer days can be hot and humid. Unfortunately, the summer heat and humidity can be brutal to your lash extensions! Although our Lash Meka Superior Bond is formulated especially to withstand Hawaii's humidity, Mother Nature can definitely be against your lash extensions. Here are our top tips for making your lashes last all summer long:

Avoid Excessive Heat

During the first day or so, we do recommend to avoid excessive heat and humidity like working out, using a sauna, or taking really hot showers for extended period of time. Although our lash adhesive can withstand a lot of heat and humidity, we do recommend giving it some time to settle!

Pool Rules

When you’re lounging by the pool, be sure to avoid an oil based sunscreen on your face, as this is the fastest way to destroy the lash adhesive bond between your natural lashes and the eyelash extensions. Same should be said about tanning oils; please avoid direct contact to the face!

Ocean Rules

Similarly to the pool, the same rules go for sunscreen and tanning oil! Salt water can cause your lash extensions to clump together, so we recommend having fresh water on stand by to gently rinse your lashes. Pack your lash spoolie and lash fan in your beach bag if possible, since using these after you enjoy a swim can help to decrease fallout.

Spray Tanning

If you plan on spray-tanning for that perfect summer glow, please avoid spray tan on your face or use googles to protect your lashes.

Be Aware of Increased Lash Growth

Your hair and lashes both grow more quickly during the summer.  Don’t be alarmed by additional lash shedding.  You may want to consider booking fills more frequently to maintain your full set of lash extensions.

Avoid Intense Heat

Whether it’s a bonfire, a barbecue or just your hair dryer in the morning, be extra vigilant about keeping you lashes out of direct and intense heat since they can singe the tips of your extensions!
